A garden is an excellent teacher. I teaches patience, careful watchfulness, it teaches industry, thrift and above all it teaches entire trust~ Gertrude Jekyll.
Have I tried to grow my own fruits or vegetables.
Yes of course. This was before marriage, despite of having a mother who was brought up in a very urban Delhi my hide and seek with the garden was instilled by my rustic paternal grandmother. Roses her were passion. I would just follow her.
It was only when my maternal grandfather returned to our hometown after retirement did we really work it, the Brinjals, the ridge gourds, the pumpkins ash and red, the snake gourd, chillies and lime we hat them all.
But now in a flat system tending to a garden becomes tough, I just have curry leaves, and bitter gourd.
