Look, no mobile!
The title of the timeslife article. Written by Seema Sinha, she writes well no condescending attitudes, or bungling language her articles are clean, and precise with quite a whip up of support material. I like to think of her as a young 20 something spirited child.
This time she has chosen an interesting muse, the mobile, as she points it impinges on ones privacy, and brushes aside claims of accessibility with relevant back up and celebrity support. She talks of being at peoples beck and call, which is true. And people will interrupt at their convenience.
But here are some points which Seems could add on of course if her editor concedes to give her space:
• Insulting—when you are at a restaurant and people in your company get calls and they are hooked on to it.
• Distracting, people carrying conversations at high decibels anywhere and everywhere for all and sundry to listen..
• Depressing – when your friends get more SMS and calls than you.
A mobile ringing during work, is such a nuisance, sometimes I think people deliberately keep their mobile on to create an impression of being over worked.
