world heritage day

April 18^th is also the day UNESCO honours as the world heritage day. It was resolved to commemorate this in the 22^nd convention of UNESCO. 

The idea was to create an awareness of ethnic heritage and to save it. Various themes that UNESCO suggests

• Agricultural heritage
• Scientific heritage
• Cultural heritage
• Architectural heritage.
• Religious  heritage

Many of the UNESCO funded organizations and NGO’s have tried to revive heritage traditions by organizing

• Talks,
• Heritage walks
• Visits to sites and monuments
• Magazine articles, television shows
• Exhibitions
• Visits to heritage sites with light and sound depiction of history.
