In India we do have a system of consulting an astrologer.

when a baby is born the first thing is done is the horoscope is cast, the child's name decided on that basis.

A bad patch in your life talk to the astrologer.

I realized many times that this does give us some kind of reassurance to face adversity. But at times I think it works like auto suggestion.

For example grandpa's brother predicted his death on X-date on Y-time and he sat prepared I think he just passed away more due to auto suggestion than the cardiac arrest.

Another friend did not even apply for her medicine course because her astrologer told her she would not be a doctor but would marry one!

when someone close to me decided to give up school despite being a

topper the astrologer reassured her parents saying that this was all the education she has, whether we put in ditch water of that volume or champagne it was a matter of choice.

As for me, I would like to take each day as it comes.
