• Hurt, damage or loss sustained.

Interesting. When we define cancer we call it the response of tissue to constant insult or injury.

Of the injuries to body, mind and soul. The worst one is the most recent bodily injury. Where I sustained 40% burns. The thinking is very clear, but the wounds are of very weird nature. Now 6 months later despite grafts and physiotherapy I am not confident of going out. It is the query in the eyes of people, sometimes stark strangers asking if it was deliberate. Oh! The cops and the shrinks apart.

Yet the four months of hospitalization was a learning too. It was realizing that the family that I have married into cares for me too. It was humbling that the world and my house could carry on without me. It was a realization that there were people more victimized and harassed that I was.

One very profound experience in the hospital was an annunciation made by an elderly nun. She came up to me held my hand and said”your aura is spiritual; the Lord has earmarked you with a mission which you are not doing. Wake up child and find out what it is.”
