Once upon a time, I was asked by the blogging community about my favorite book to read this was my take then and my take even to the day hooked By Books https://kitabikida.wordpress.com/2012/02/26/hooked-by-books/
I noticed the books that Amazon recommends for me mostly of the Sadhguru kinds. The books that acquaintances gift they are of the Osho kinds. Those who know me truly will pick up something really light. Frankly I fiction for me is comfort reading.
Particularly now, like Lydia Davis observes in one of her books, I’ve reached a juncture in my reading life that is familiar to those who have been there. in the allotted time left to me the earth, should I read more and more new books or should cease with that vain consumption – vacin because it is endless – and begin to read the books that have given me intensest pleasure in my past… I choose the a mix of both.
Fiction or non-fiction again a mix of both. So at the end of the day I am back to my Agatha Christie.
I am reading Murder On The Links.
The book where an urgent Cry for help brings Poirot to France. But hearrives to too late to save his client, whose brutally stabbed body is found face down in an open shallow grave of a golf course.
There are no doubt a few intriguing questions like why is the dead man wearing his son’s over coat. Who is writer of the passionate loveletter in the pocket… and then the most intriguing one of it all… the second identical body turns up.
To quote the Grand Dame herself…“The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances.”
