Crete Tub and History Bubbles

Dec.5th  is a unique day

It is the BATHTUB PARTY DAY, Naa… no political party wants to dunk in a bathtub. It is to celebrate the unmeasurable relaxation power of a long soak in warm water essential oils. Etc. etc.

It could be anything a solitary soak, surrounded by soft music, scented candles, a chill drink or lot of tub toys and crowded splash around. The basic idea is to have fun.

A nice warm water bath with relevant fragrances, is a great way to pamper yourself. Maybe you should throw one this week end.

I remember visiting my aunt in Bangalore the only thing that fascinated my daughter was the bath tub.  Their involvement with the bath tub began since their birth as they would be given a bath in one

Crete of 1700 has the earliest mention of bathtubs.  Though John Micheal Kohler officially invented the bathtub in 1883. Kohler happened to be co-founder of Kohler company he fixed a cast-iron horse trough with decorative feet combined with an enamel finish creating the claw foot design.

On a time, line –

POSSIBLE ACTIVITIES:

Watch a movie relaxing in your tub.

Have a tub party with your partner or if you have kids then with your kids.

Try a new bath bomb.

Actually, a bathtub is nothing more that a container that a person or an animal may bathe in. and they are made of acrylic, porcelain enamelled steel, caste iron fibre glass reinforced with polyester. This could be stand-one in a combination with a shower. The modern bathtubs have overflows and rains some even have taps mounted on them.

Though tubs could be of different shapes rectangle is the most popular. Conventionally they were white but now many hues are found.

In the west the bather lies down and tub is long and shallow

In the east it is deep and short and bather sits upright. In Japanese this referred to as furo

Latter half of the 20th century the clawfoot tub morphed into a built in one, with a small apron in front. The more lightweight and pocket friendly ones came out in 1960

Actually, bath time is a great time to bond and create family rituals. Some suggestions would. Bath Rituals:

Bath time countdown;     that 5mnts, rather your favourite bath toy, towel

Magic bubbles       a bubble bath or bomb that that the child can choose, this could be an occasional treat.

Special bath toys:  brought out only for the bathtub party. And a few they can use for their everyday bath.

Underwater stories          I had a deep one for my daughter, with her toy octopus in place.

Glow in dark          bath toys that are water proof.

Bathrobe royalty

Snack surprise       very rarely I would allow them some snack in the tub. Like crackers or a fruit.

Afterbath wrap-up          hot chocolate with marsh mellows.

Bath tub parties are no doubt fun but somethings need to be taken care of like :

  1. Slip and fall risks. The combination of water and soap can cause slippery conditions.
  2. Overindulgence:    in case of adults can cause impaired judgement and loss of coordination.
  3. Temperature:         extremely hot water can cause burns or lead to dizziness there should be no discomfort particularly when children are involve.
  4. Electrical devices like players, driers should be kept away to avoid electrical shocks
  5. Allergic reactions:  product used particularly bath bombs and essential oils should not have adverse reactions. Some individuals could be allergic or sensitive.
  6. Medical conditions such as pregnancy, cardiac disorders need lot of care before a bath.
  7. Child supervision:  if it a children’s party then constant supervision is essentially children should never be left unattended.
  8. Ventilation of the bathroom should be adequate to prevent issues related to excessive steam.

Have a safe, fun filled BATHTUB PARTY.
