🌬️ A Special Letter for Eliza from the Moon-Braid Lady
Dear Eliza,
The Moon-Braid Lady wrote you a lovely letter last week. She folded it with care, sprinkled a little stardust on the envelope, and asked the postman to place it in the beautiful mailbox you made with your own hands.
But oh no! The postman forgot to give it to you. Maybe he got distracted by a butterfly. Or maybe the wind whispered a secret and he followed it.
But guess what? Today, the Moon-Braid Lady has sent you another letter—and this one is very special. It’s not just a hello. It’s a story. A sky-story. A balloon-story.
Let me tell you…
🎈The First Balloon Mail
A long, long time ago—over 160 years ago—a man named John Wise had a big idea. He wanted to send mail through the sky!
He climbed into a giant balloon called Jupiter. It was round and colorful, like a jellybean floating in the clouds. Inside his basket, he carried 123 letters. Real letters! With stamps and everything.
He hoped the wind would carry him all the way to New York City. But the wind had other plans. It gently pushed the balloon to a small town called Crawfordsville.
John landed safely. The letters didn’t fly all the way—but they finished their journey by train. And that’s how the first airmail began!
💌 And Now, Eliza…
The Moon-Braid Lady says:
Even if your letter doesn’t land where you expect, it still carries your heart.
Even if the wind changes, your dreams still fly.
So today, maybe you can write a little note.
Fold it with love.
And imagine it floating up, up, up…
To someone who needs a smile.
With sky-hugs and balloon kisses,
Your Moon-Braid Lady
