I am now teaching my students Rtu Samhara of Kalidasa, one interesting aspect of it is that Kalidasa, talks of the Rtu-Chakra and how all the animals are in synchrony with it, except man who with passing time moves away from nature.
coming to think of it the human experience is removed from nature i think we have forgotten that we are the products of natural world.
There was time when new borns were perfectly attuned to nature, I doubt if they are now, I mean the natural process was when the child emerged from the dark womb it was given time to acclimitize to the bright world it ain’t so any more. Yet maybe a child is better tuned to nature that the adults are.
Our feelings are an authentic response to the stimulus we encounter. Early childhood we grapple with the natural evolutionary milestones of learning to turn over, being nourished by our mothers if we are lucky. We respond to the stimulus discovering the world around us. but this is where the synthetic world gets us, the sights, sounds and scents that our naturalness remains a faint memory.
Generations of mankind of grown, diaper free wetting themselves and being cleaned up yet today the child is fitted with a diaper so that it sleep well and presumably grow taller healthier whatever, this is a fallacy, simply because nocturnal urination is part of growing up, the child learns bladder control for its own survival, with the diaper we are introducing the child’s skin to pathogens that proliferate in urea, we are also exposing the child to harsh chemicals that are carcinogenic.
We innately understand that our bodies are not composed of plastics or man made chemicals and that there is no legitimate reason to consume or expose ourselves to it. this knowledge is reinforced each time we find ourselves energized by the fresh air, warm sunlight or when we are awed by the natural beauty of a terrain.
The connect to the earth that sustains us is there when we eat fresh fruits or vegetables. Carrots and beans maybe healthy so would broccoli and whatever but these happen only if they are fresh. That would happen only if we Locovorous,
If we can can look beyond the beliefs created for us by advertising world our life style choices and attitudes will be different, it would be closer to nature and our innate naturalness. We then discover a body and mind that never really gave up its relationship to essence of natural world from which consciousness sprang.
“Life has its rhythm ad we have ours. They’re designed to coexist in harmony, so that when we do what is ours to do and otherwise let life be, we garner acceptance and serenity. (285)”
