Yesterday afternoon ICG organized a workshop on “Ancient learnings and transferring it to a new wave”
I participated in it hoping that there would be some insight in transferring the ancient knowledge.
Well the workshop began with us sharing about what we thought of our ancestors, from there were a few slides on Nelson Mandela’s take on “Ubuntu” Barrack Osama’s quote and Archbishop’s quote, three sides to introduce Maat the goddess of justice and truth from Egyptian mythology. And few slides of similar workshops conducted by the resource person at venues like Oman, Kuwait etc.
Well, we did discuss our values, created a value tree, created a visiting card based on the impressions others had of us. A basic exercise on body language.
To be honest, I did not put down my honest opinion because it would be rude. So essentially we were not really honest in what we had to say, or how we behaved.
I shall share what I learnt about Ubuntu, through various conversations at workshops conducted by Landmark forum and Louise Hay, but before that I am inviting all of you to contribute to help me receive what I went to receive in yesterday’s workshop
There are values that we were handed by our ancestors. These values help us root ourselves on Terra Firma both physically and metaphysically, with breaking of family, migration I think somewhere these values have gone dormant. How do we re-activate this.
How can we create an environment that will let the kids imbibe values, please do not refer the “Value based education” at school, it is a myth, the only thing the modern schools achieve is sell themselves.
There are small bugs that eat into our value tree, I am looking at something that allows us to deal with it.
