Life in all of its fullness is happening right now. As our thoughts do tend move sometimes, elsewhere the beautiful opportunities and moments are being passed over and lost to the flow of time. Though we cannot fully experience each leaf that falls to ground, there are times we get so attached to reaching our goals that we don’t pay attention to the wonder all around us.
When we live with our focus being our goal, or something in the future we live in a world that exists only in our heads, while we miss life itself. There is so much to be enjoyed and appreciated that we need to remember to pay attention to the present moment because it is the only space which we can experience being alive.
Let me explain, I am planning this forts on India tour for the next month, now my entire time goes in the anticipation of okay, I shall take this train I shall stay here I shall do this etc. etc. my mode is anticipation and thrill. Towards the end of the tour I am looking at laundry, musty house and the works that puts me on the mode of depression. So effectively I my experience of the now gets influenced. I am not present to life in the moment.
We create our lives with our thoughts, but focusing firmly on our imagined future keeps us from co-creating with the universe, so we might never allow ourselves to live our dreams as they manifest. It’s possible to be so happy and comfortable in our inner worlds that we lose touch with the business of life. The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.
We were given life; it becomes both our duty and our entitlement as human beings to find something beautiful within life no matter how slight. What we have to decide is … how we want our life to be. If my forever was ending tomorrow how would I want to spend it? Nothing is guaranteed. I have experienced this first hand, so I invite you to be alive, do not be afraid. You may want to decide fast. We live in a dangerous world. If you see a chance to be happy you have to fight for it, so later you have no regrets.
We can awaken ourselves to the present by living right now, taking deep breath and simply looking around. This allows us to focus our attention in the real world. Today, just take time to smell the roses, enjoy those little things about your life, your family, your spouse, friends, and jobs. Forget about the thorns, the pains and problems they cause you.—enjoy life.
