It’s a new day
It’s a new life for me
And I’m feeling good”
― Leslie BricusseThe Leslie Bricusse Songbook

Have you ever seen the dawn? Not a dawn groggy with lack of sleep or hectic with mindless obligations and you are about rush off on an early adventure or business, but full of deep silence and absolute clarity of perception? A dawning which you truly observe, degree by degree? It’s like a moment of birth; it is most amazing and can really spur us to action.

The sun ritual, allows us the opportunity to create our day with what inspires us the most. The moment of awakening, the point where we open our eyes and come to consciousness is a precious opportunity. It sets the tone for all that comes after it. this is the moment our ability to create the day is at its most powerful, we can offer ourselves to the creative process by filling this moment with whatever inspires us the most. If we can bring this vision into our minds at this very fertile moment we empower it to be the guiding principle of our day.

Sometimes we wake up with a mood that already seemingly in place and it’s important to give this feeling its due. It informs and deepens our awareness to what’s going on inside us, as well as around us. As along as we are conscious, we can honour this feeling and introduce our new affirmation or vision.

I know people who create what they want for the next day before going to bed. It could be summoning a particular quality, or it could be just being open to life. We can reaffirm this as many times as we can during the day.  But simply by being aware of those first moments we set the stage for a more consciously enliven experience we become participants in the creation of our lives.
