Shilpagram

Like last year this year too, we decided to drive along to Sawantwadi the only difference being we researched what we could see in around Sawant wadi. Though we did research we really did not achieve our target since each bit was quite interesting.sawant wadi (3)

Shilpagram was one interesting destination. It was conceived with idea of having a central area where creative artists could work, it is a lovely area, that where three hillock slopes meet, an open air theatre, a sculptor village a reception hall, and then there are many cottage for participants.sawant wadi (6)

Though the concept idea is all very good, it is pretty well maintained too, yet it seems forgotten, the workers were saying no real work takes place except for stray visitors like us, or college kids romancing from the prying eyes of elders.

True the place seems to be forgotten. You’re right not many people consciously plan to go there except for the school kids, who are taken for picnics.

Do you like in and around there because you have at least heard of it.

I like cottage industries and my daughter would go for picnic to this place from her school. Maybe that’s why.
