A nights restful sleep. When the sleep debt is paid, the body is rejuvenated, because it is rested and repaired. Irrelevant thoughts are flushed out as fantasies. Waking up to a smell is of course much more satisfying than waking up to a noise, instead of barging in uninvited and yaking you out into reality like an alarm clock does, smells enter the dreams with a silent knock and a polite excuse me.
Actually waking up begins with saying am and now. That which has awoken then lies staring up at the ceiling and down into itself until it has recognized I and therefrom I am, I am now. Here comes next and is at least negatively reassuring, because here this morning, is where it ahs expected to find itself what’s called at home.
At night I wind up for the day, and waking up in the morning is about unwinding. It is as if the orange hue of the Lady of the Dawn slowly warms the still and latent within me and coaxes me to wake up. What actually works for me, in feeling fresh, is a good sneeze, and if that sneeze does not escape, holy heavens that is the end of my day, and the rest of my families day.
What works for me is like a schedule, check list
- An affirmation in when the sleep breaks
- A glass of warm water to gargle and rinse the posterior third of the tongue, this cleans whatever slough collected at the back of the tongue.
- A glass of warm water to drink.
- Oil
- Sweep the front foyer, this dusts away the negative energy settled from the day that is gone. It also is a good exercise.
- Sweep and mop the house, another good wholesome exercise.
- About 10 suryanamaskars.
Now is the vital aspect of the ritual of waking up, the cup of coffee, with my first cup of coffee, I pray, its a silent prayer sung while the mind is still foggy and blue,”O Magic cup,” it goes,”carry me above the traffic jam. Keep me civil in the subway. And forgive employer as you forgive me.Amen”—by the way I learnt this prayer from Stewart Lee Allen and believe me now I am truly set to face the world.
bring on the pencils, bring on the books,
I promise you’ll get no dirty looks.
Its amazing how the world begins to change through the eyes of a cup of coffee. There is amazing clarity of thought and a sense of invincible energy. To quote Mark Helprin the voodoo priest and all his powders were as nothing compared to espresso, cappuccino and mocha, which are stronger than all the religionsof the world combined, and perhaps stronger than the human soul itself.
If you are wondering about Brush, and bathe business, then hang on, with the morning routine done, and yesterday’s staleness being replaced by today’s residue, comes the completion of the freshness ritual.
It is Breakfast – Brush- Bathe and rush….
