Pondering on Payoffs and Perils of Pitching to Publishers.

An invite,

My host actually family INDIBLOGGER

Venue #BNLF,#VOW @Dehradun

Event –  write a book that you always wanted to write it could be on anything you ever wanted, if you want your book published on the greatest blogging staged  #VOW2017

A dream comes true. I can finally get my book published without the terrorizing steps that lead to actual publication.

A book I always wanted to write, correction a book I have written and do not have the courage to publish —.

Marcia the pop-guru is a 2011 NaNoWrMo winner based on the new age Guru cults. The observations and narratives are intercepted with mythological stories and some random poetry. The first draft is complete.

the book I really published…

Frau fifty is the book I really would like to pitch but the draft is incomplete, it is a non-fiction book on the voyage of five women who turn fifty and a precise challenge the face, book walks through their hands on experience in overcoming the challenge. Narratives are from my personal space and clinical experiences; the proactive ways of dealing with it comes from various healers and my own clinic experience.

I am not really sure about other authors having written on these topics, but I have drawn on my experiences as a clinician, observations and listening too narratives of people

About me:  well I am a published author of short stories Fundacao Orient has my story in the Coconut Fronds – an anthology of Goan stories. Taranga and Udayavani have published my short stories in Kannada. And of course there are my stories on my blog on www.plinkyprompt.wordpress.com.

With two books already written one full term awaiting the writing, and fourth buzzing in its inception stage, I was hesitant simply because I did not understand what story mirror was all about. Finally I went on the web site. Of story mirror even then I am still confused, are they virtual publishers or do they publish  a physical book. But” ours is not to question, ours is to submit and not shy” my apologises to Tennyson.

As flip through the pages I cannot blog, the team or the careers, but yes the about page is up, their tie ups are impressive,  so I guess I shall pitch my story sit back, sip my Coffea Robusta and wait for what the universe unfolds for me.

But know something this quote of Anne Lamott is something I really empathize with, “I still encourage anyone who feels at all compelled to write to do so. I just try to warn people who hope to get published that publication is not all it is cracked up to be. But writing is. Writing has so much to give, so much to teach, so many surprises. That thing you had to force yourself to do—the actual act of writing—turns out to be the best part. It’s like discovering that while you thought you needed the tea ceremony for the caffeine, what you really needed was the tea ceremony. The act of writing turns out to be its own reward.”

There is something about writing, like Malaria, it flares up, the symptoms show you medicate yourself with writing and you are healed till the next attack, but publishing what your write is another story, it is a high risk adventure.
