Learning From the Animal Kingdom.
Sundown, Parwati quite often teased with the epithet Maa Dosa Kurma sat her patio, just gazing at the horizon. when a slim, form wearing straight cut Go Colors Ikat pants and an oversized Scottish green checked shirt walked in,
“My, my, who do we have here!?!” the eyes light up with pleasure, but the innate naughtiness intact, “the Xammi Xamman in person, come right in lets have a cup ‘a tea”
“Wow, what bliss” sighed Xammi, the tea was an authentic one from tea box, “what is this mix?”
“Orange, and chocolate flavored tea”
“You really, have something exotic most times, no wonder they call you Maa DosaKurma”
Xammi and Parwati belonged to the same sorority.
‘Can we talk shop?’ Parwati inquired…’sure’ was the reply.
‘There has been bird that I have been observing quite often, and I thought I should ask you about it.”
Xammi studied the photograph and said, “This is the snakebird”
“Xammi, how does this work”
‘Strange that you should ask, I have been thinking of compiling what I have observed in 33yrs of my career as a Zoologist” Parwati raised an eyebrow, inviting her friend to continue.
People come to scared because some animal has shown up, or they just want some information. What they don’t realize is that the animal that showed up, as an unexpected visitor is there because we need a bit of wisdom or nudge in the right direction.
‘Oh!’ was Parwati’s response.
“Yes,’ continued Xammi,” they are silent messengers whisperin’secrets of the universe when we least expect it. Not to mention totem animals, symbols of our roots, and kinship.”
“Something like a family crest,” asked Parwati
“yup, they are kinda remindin’us where we come from and where we belong.”
“What are power animals then”
‘Hmm they are like the fiery spirits with us, lending strength and courage at the time of need, a force to be reckoned with. Most of us, have an innate connect with the animal consciousness, after all we evolved from them. It’s like havin’a secret conversation with the universe when the going gets tough. and we share some kind of special bond. If I was to speak the language of Metaphysics, I would say it is a bond forged in the life of life, a dance between the seen and unseen worlds. A reminder of our place in the grand scheme of things. etc. etc.”
“And what does the zoologist say”
“There is something called as Animal communication, it is the transfer of information from one group of animals to the other. This information affects the behavior of the receiver. It could be intentional or it could be unintentional. But it effects…. Interestingly Parwati there is huge growing area of disciplines including animal behavior, social structure, neural responses and things like that.
The equation goes like this, the sender sends a signal. The receiver receives it and both are benefited by it. This is called co-evolve. this involves visual, audio messages and coordination from the sender and receiver. Fun isn’t it.”
so, here’s to the spirits that walk beside us guidin’us through the twists and turns of this wild ride we call life.
