A Shout Out to To My Travel Trio

“There lies the port; the vessel puffs her sail:
There gloom the dark, broad seas. My mariners,
Souls that have toiled, and wrought, and thought with me…”

—Tennyson, Ulysses

If I had to choose companions for my own odyssey, armchair-bound as it often is, these three would unfailingly make the cut. Whether they’re wielding scalpels, steering automobiles, or clicking shutters, each of them brings their unique brilliance to the table—and to my screen. So here’s a very personal shoutout to three bloggers who’ve made my digital world delightfully brighter.

Senator Vivek Hande

Ah, Vivek—doctor, golfer, and writer from the gut (pun absolutely intended). He is my colleague in the trenches of medicine, but more importantly, he’s my mirror of existential angst. When he raves, I feel seen. When he rants, I laugh. And when he writes, it’s like a well-practiced golf swing: effortlessly charming, but with enough bite to send the ball soaring straight into a bunker of wry humor.

I often wonder if gastroenterology teaches one to digest life with all its lumps and bumps, because Vivek does it with grace—and a hefty dose of wit.

Srinidhi Hande

Srinidhi is my trusted travel companion—not that he knows it. While he’s out conquering 53 countries, I’m firmly planted in my armchair, living vicariously through his words. He blogs about travel, automobiles, and life with such flair that even a non-traveler like me can pretend I’ve scaled the Alps or driven a luxury car on the Autobahn.

As a fellow Udupi-ite, he brings a slice of home to every post, whether he’s writing about faraway places or parking himself in a corner with his laptop. In a world of flashy influencers, Srinidhi stands out for his substance.

Dr. Kiran VedaVyasa Acharya (Kiran Katte)

Kiran, my other travel companion (again, without his explicit consent), takes us on journeys that blend clinical precision with poetic charm. A man of many layers—orthopaedic surgeon, photographer, and an understated humorist—he captures the world not just through his cameras but also through his sharp observational lens.

He’s the sort of gentleman who’d hold the door for you, then subtly point out that it was open the whole time. His photographs have a way of sneaking into my bucket list, while his words quietly remind me why I need to get out more—or at least think about it.

The Threads That Bind

What’s a trio without some overlaps?

  • The Medical Connection: Vivek and Kiran share more than their medical degrees—they share the ability to heal, not just bodies, but minds.
  • The Hande Name: Vivek and Srinidhi could easily pass as family, given the surname and shared knack for brilliance.
  • Armchair Tourism: Kiran and Srinidhi bring travel alive, each in their own way, making even the most mundane day feel like a potential adventure.

Why Do I Follow Them?

It’s simple, really. They remind me that life, in all its complexity, can still be joyful, adventurous, and profoundly human. Vivek helps me process the absurdity of our shared profession, Srinidhi keeps my wanderlust alive without me leaving my chair, and Kiran’s images and humor give me fresh perspectives on the world I thought I knew.

To my comrades in curiosity and creators of countless smiles: thank you for making this journey a little lighter, a little brighter, and infinitely more fun. Cheers!
