With The Refugees

World Refugee Day commemorates the obstacles that Refugees face each year. It also honours their courage and strength, on June 20th the United Nations observes the World Refugee Day.

The United Nations High Commission has set up #WithRefugees petition to create an action plan to bring about solidarity and global responsibility on behalf of refugee. Asylum seekers differ from Refugees as they are individuals who have sought international protection and their claim for refugee status has not yet been determined.

According to the UN-refugee body as of 2015 there are about 2,07,861 persons of concern  and 6,480 asylum seeks.  India has offered sheltered to Tibetans, the chakmas the Afghans and ethnic Srilankan Tamils.  Despite of one of the largest refugee population in South Asia we are yet to enact an uniform law that addresses the issue of asylum.

Interestingly  none of the domestic laws speak in reference to the term “refugee” India has not signed the 1951 United Nations Refugee Convention on the status of Refugees nor has the 1967 protocol dealing with rights and services the host state must provide the refugees been signed.  Though there is an informal refuge regime, parallel to the international one, no formal asylum policy is devised; the decision for granting of asylum is ad hoc and case-to-case basis. In 2015 the congress MP Shashi Tharoor introduced a private member bill called the asylum bill 2015 it is to provide for the establishment of a legal framework to harmonize India’s refugee policy, this has not yet been taken up for consideration.

The Tibetans who came seeking asylum in 1959 along with the Dalai Lama were treated as refugee’s and given land and housing, it since been discontinued.  They can avail all the privileges of an Indian citizen though they cannot vote or take government jobs provided they have a registration certificate (RC) the RC a prerequisite to live in India is issued by the passport office Delhi on recommendations of the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Delhi.

The Sri Lankan Tamil refugees could be either camp refugees or non-camp refugees  this depends on the socio-economic parameter. They cannot vote or own property though they can own cattle and purchase things for domestic use. The identity card is issued either for the family or to individuals, and it would document details of the names, age, relationships, gender, date and location of arrival in India their education background and the address in SriLanka, the camp revenue inspector also issues a refugee certificate which is required for them to return to SriLanka.

Since July 2016 the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jains Parsis and Christians refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan staying in India on Term Visa’s have been regularized, they are allowed to open bank accounts, purchase property for self occupation and suitable accommodation for carrying out self employment, take self-employment and obtain documents like driving licenses, PAN cards and Aadhar numbers. They are also given privileges like free movement within the state or union Territory; transfer fo visa paper from one state to the other, waiver of penalty on non-extension of short-term or long term visas on time.

Bangladeshi’s and Pakistani’s who belong to minority communities and have entered India on or before Dec.31,2014 have exempted from relevant provisions of rules and order made under the Passport Act 1920 (Entry into India) and the Foreigners Act 1946 with respect to their entry and stay in India without documents or after the expiry of those documents.

How old are we?

sardar patel

How old are we?

The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history – George Orwell said this, coming to think of this it is quite true. If I were to step into the shoes of any historical figure it would be Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Yes, the forgotten Iron man of India.

I wish I could quote Arthur Conan Doyle and say” what you do in this world is a matter of no consequence. The question is what you can make people believe you have done” well the truth is what Sardar did was of consequence…

The most effective way to destroy people is deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history, ask anyone on the street, they will tell you that India is 3000 yr. Old civilization. We are not; we are only some 70 odd years old. The geographic expanse of modern India is the creation of the British, and Mohandas Karmachand Gandhi executed by Sardar Vallabhai Patel, this was the very thing that I would not do. Simply because emotionally, culturally we are not meant to be bonded to together.  The conversation would probably be something like this:

At the residence of the viceroy, sipping whatever Lord Mountbatten,

“Mr.Gandhi, how can a responsible country like Britain leave the country in such a mess?”

“what do you suggest your excellency.”

Later in the evening at the ashram, a conversation between Patel, and Gandhi

“Mahatmaji, what would you want me to do.”

“Patel, the british has built us a strong india we need to keep it unified. ”

“Do you realize the implication of this, a country so vast, with diverse history and geography, a people that constantly fought each other, do you really want to bring them  under an umbrella ?”

“we are looking at British India, other princely states ruled by the British will join us. After all we have the same history”

“with due respect Mahatma, we have the same history but our stories are at conflict with one another, the united India is but the creation of the Britisher.”

If could step into Sardar Vallabh bhai Pstels shoes with the knowledge and understanding of today without being overtly obedient to Gandhi I would refuse to do this. Say for whatever reason I did see sense- in this nonsense I would not step down from the prime minister ship for Nehru who was a blatant stooge of British. Talking about Nehru and Gandhi like how it is with all legends the greater they sound more must’ve got left out!!indispire_170x110

At the end of the history is a set of lies agreed upon. The historians of post independent India like to say that Gandhi was the critical factor of gaining independence, Patel consolidated it geographically and Nehru the visionary lead it to its thrust with destiny.

Personally with regard to history and historians I think BC means before coffee.

Bengali Buzurg Vs Gujju Guy

ImageAmartya Kumar Sen Indian economist, who lives in the land of Uncle Sam, writes on poverty, socialism and Indian culture sponsored by American cheques. He has made contributions to social choice theory, economic and social justices, and economic theories of famines and indexes of the measurement of well-being of citizens of developing countries.

The fly that bothers our export quality Bengali Buzurg is Narendra Modi, 14th and current chief minister of Gujarat a state in western India.

From what the media reports the bilayati Bengali Buzurg actually got 64 politicians from India (?) to sign a petition to OBAMA (?) is not approving modi’s candidature, now I am a stupid citizen who has certain fundamental questions, — call me an argumentative Indian if you like

modiThe Bilayati Bengali Babu lives somewhere out of the countries boundaries, US or UK so how does he matter?

On Headlines Today the Bilayati Bengali Babu queries, “Is there congress man implicated in the 84 riots harbouring PM ambitions.” The answer Mr. Nobel Laureate economist-socialist –cultural scientist Mr.Sen is NOT KNOWN we don’t know what the politicians latent dreams are, but the members of the congress party know that it is Raoul Vinci (aka known as Rahul Gandhi poster boy for congress within the country and Indian politics of western media.)Who is the prime minister in waiting with powers vested by Mama Mia?

Amidst all the adulation you receive for your knowledge bank in economics, history, sociology, Indian culture, global presence, congress arse licking, Mr. Secular progressive sen you are suffering from altimeters, remember the Prithviraj and Jaichand?  The warring smaller states of India, resulting in the British ruling us, citizen journalistfrom the Islamic Invaders, to the Christian traders are YOU now inviting the Americans to rule us?

Does the Bible Say the Garden of Eden Was in India?

ImageBy Barry Brown

For most people, the Bible’s story of the Garden of Eden — with Adam, Eve and a talking snake — is a fable of some imaginary paradise in the Middle East with no basis in reality.

But what if all those assumptions are wrong? The Greek philosopher Plato wrote that when ancient civilizations fall, the survivors try to keep alive the old world by passing down its histories. But, he said, those survivors only remember the names of people, places, and events while the details are largely lost and forgotten.

Is there a lost and forgotten history within the Garden of Eden story and if there is, can we find enough archaeological, linguistic, and historical records from other parts of the ancient world – such as India, China, and Mesopotamia to find it?

To begin any search for the “real” Garden of Eden, we must first answer 2 questions: 1) Where was Eden? 2) When did this event of Eden and the loss of Eden take place?

It will surprise many people to know that the Bible clearly says the Garden of Eden was in India. The word “garden” simply means “an enclosed area,” and the Bible says this garden was in the eastern part of a larger land called “Havilah.” According to Jewish Talmudic commentary and tradition, along with the writings of the fathers of the early Christian Church, Havilah was India. Further, of the 3 rivers said run through Havilah — the Tigris, Euphrates, and Pichon — those same sources suggest the Pichon is India’s Ganges River.

Leaving aside all the other evidence linking the people and culture of the early Bible to that of ancient India (detailed on my website, http://www.shalomaste.com), let’s accept the earliest authorities of the Bible on the Bible’s earliest history.

According to tradition, Year One of the 5772-year-old Hebrew/Jewish calendar marks the time when Adam and Eve left Eden and journeyed west. There are 3 clues we can take from this story in a search for its roots in real history: 1) It happened about 6,000 years ago, 2) It involved the ancestors of the Hebrew people who are the ancestors of the Jewish people, 3) The fall of a peaceful, Eden-like civilization led to the outward, western migration of people from that older area.

Is there some recorded, major world event that meets all those criteria? Yes. About 6,000 years ago, a great peaceful kingdom in ancient India was torn apart in a civil war between royal cousins and their allies. At the end of this war, called the War at Kurukshetra, 4 million men — three generations of males — were dead. In the post-war chaos of the “new order” millions of people began to migrate away from the Ganges River region in eastern India. With great hopes that they could establish a new and better civilization of peace and prosperity, these migrants from the east founded a new kingdom along the banks of the Indus River in western India.

The earliest Bible stories offer another 3 clues for tracing the likely history behind them. 1) A long time after the events of Eden there is a Great Flood, 2) Noah, the main figure of the Bible’s flood story, is safe in a boat when he sees “the world” destroyed by the flood, 3) After the flood, Noah’s ark lands somewhere where he can see the Ararat Mountains that run from their heights in modern Turkey to its foothills near the Persian Gulf.

There are more than 200 records of a great flood event that happened 4,500-4,800 years ago, and these ancient stories come from regions throughout the Middle East, South Asia, China, and the Pacific Islands. Among them, the tales of the worst devastation come from India where the walls of waters are reported to have ripped up the landscape for 100 miles inland. Recent studies suggest an asteroid impact in the Indian Ocean off Madagascar was the cause of this well-remembered catastrophe.

The Bible reports that Noah saw “the world” destroyed by the flood. If Noah did not see the entire globe submerged, then what he witnessed was the end of a world civilization. Until the fall of the Roman Empire about 2,000 years ago, there was only one world center at a time. In the ancient world of 4,500 years ago that world center was the Indus Valley of ancient India.

If Noah’s ark floated away from the Indus River and traveled west for 40 days, his boat would have landed in the Persian Gulf — within sight of the foothills of the Ararat Mountains.

In the early Bible, we are told of 3 groups of people:

1) The Righteous Ones (Adam to Noah),

2) The Hebrews (Abraham to Joseph),

3) The Israelites and Jews.

The Hebrew people are introduced after the flood and their name gives us a final clue. The word Hebrew means “wanderers who came from the East,” and refers to immigrants coming into Mesopotamia in the Middle East from the Near East. If Noah had landed in Turkey, his descendants would have been called “people who came from the North.”

And now you know why the Bible says the Garden of Eden was in India.

In mah neighboorhuid.

indo pakIndo Pak relations,

We are symbiotic that is what I feel, everytime the political leaders feel their powers threatened it could be Quadri in Pakistan or Modi in Hindustan, men the state powers claim a border leak or break. People in Pakistan will talk about Indians causing instability, and in India we point our fingers at them.

The Brits knew freaking well what they were doing, sibling rivalry keeps India Pakistan so busy that one day we wake to hear that Bangladesh and Srilanka have become superpowers while we were squabbling.  Remember the story of the cat who divided the butter, that’s what is happening.

Very few people of the vanishing Raj are present today; I am from a generation that would hear about the struggle for independence from my parents and grandparents. Albeit my mother was a bit too young.

If America and England are two countries separated by the same language, India and Pakistan are the same country separated by politics.

The seed of this divide was sown in 1932 by a now forgotten revolutionary.

It was rekindled by British with two inspiring factors,

  • They wanted a buffer between India and Russia, else Afghanistan to the subcontinent it would all be influenced by the Eurasian cousins in Russia.
  • Nehru was to be the state head. This was part of the deal.

The creation of the Indian constitution based on the act of 1935 govt. Of India act, actually the president replaced the king, prime minister stayed same, and counties replaced by state worked as a starting point, while Pakistan remained lost.

The logic of the division cited was a Muslim Pakistan and a non-Muslim India; the princely states were to choose their allegiance. The tragedy was the Muslims who were comfortable in their skins and with their evening pegs, got Pakistan while the people who wanted an Islamic nation, i.e. the cowbelt Muslims got left behind!!

The cartography of the divide was overseen by a barrister named Sir Cyril Radcliff, who suffered from a Delhi-Belly, and presto, the united family of post independent India was cut up by the unsteady hands of challenged intestine… lets give him benefit of doubt it could be challenged stomach.  No geographic study or survey was done.

No plebiscite was conducted. The princely states were given Hobson’s choice.

Jinnah was chosen as the beacon of Pakistan simply because the then Aga Khan supported him.

  • The interesting fact was no state opted for Pakistan.
  • There were states with Muslim population and Hindu rulers and visa-versa.
  • Junagadh royalty opted for Pakistan post aug.14th
  • Hyderabad, wanted to go to Pakistan but geographic restrains were clamped.

I am sharing an article by a Pakistan radical thinker that I really like reading.

Capital suggestion
By Dr Farrukh Saleem

Here’s what is happening in India :
The two Ambani brothers can buy 100 percent of every company listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and would still be left with $30 billion to spare. The four richest Indians can buy up all goods and services produced over a year by 169 million Pakistanis and still be left with $60 billion to spare. The four richest Indians are now richer than the forty richest Chinese.
In November, Bombay Stock Exchange’s benchmark Sensex flirted with 20,000 points. As a consequence, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries became a $100 billion company (the entire KSE is capitalized at $65 billion). Mukesh owns 48 percent of Reliance.
In November, comes Neeta’s birthday. Neeta turned forty-four three weeks ago. Look what she got from her husband as her birthday present: A sixty-million dollar jet with a custom fitted master bedroom, bathroom with mood lighting, a sky bar, entertainment cabins, satellite television, wireless communication and a separate cabin with game consoles. Neeta is Mukesh Ambani’s wife, and Mukesh is not India ‘s richest but the second richest.

Mukesh is now building his new home, Residence Antillia (after a mythical, phantom island somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean ). At a cost of $1 billion this would be the most expensive home on the face of the planet. At 173 meters tall Mukesh’s new family residence, for a family of six, will be the equivalent of a 60-storeyed building. The first six floors are reserved for parking. The seventh floor is for car servicing and maintenance. The eighth floor houses a mini-theatre. Then there’s a health club, a gym and a swimming pool. Two floors are reserved for Ambani family’s guests. Four floors above the guest floors are family floors all with a superb view of the Arabian Sea . On top of everything are three helipads. A staff of 600 is expected to care for the family and their family home.
In 2004, India became the 3rd most attractive foreign direct investment destination… Pakistan wasn’t even in the top 25 countries.
In 2004, the United Nations, the representative body of 192 sovereign member states, had requested the Election Commission of India to assist the UN in the holding elections in Al Jumhuriyah al Iraqiyah and Dowlat-e Eslami-ye Afghanestan.. Why the Election Commission of India and not the Election Commission of Pakistan? After all, Islamabad is closer to Kabul than is Delhi .
Imagine, 12 percent of all American scientists are of Indian origin; 38 percent of doctors in America are Indian; 36 percent of NASA scientists are Indians; 34 percent of Microsoft employees are Indians; and 28 percent of IBM employees are Indians.
For the record: Sabeer Bhatia created and founded Hotmail… Sun Microsystems was founded by Vinod Khosla. The Intel Pentium processor, that runs 90 percent of all computers, was fathered by Vinod Dham. Rajiv Gupta co-invented Hewlett Packard’s E-speak project. Four out often Silicon Valley start-ups are run by Indians. Bollywood produces 800 movies per year and six Indian ladies have won Miss Universe/Miss World titles over the past 10 years.
For the record: Azim Premji, the richest Muslim entrepreneur on the face of the planet, was born in Bombay and now lives in Bangalore.India now has more than three dozen billionaires; Pakistan has none (not a single dollar billionaire) .
The other amazing aspect is the rapid pace at which India is creating wealth. In 2002, Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh and Anil Ambani’s father, left his two sons a fortune worth $2.8 billion. In 2007, their combined wealth stood at $94 billion. On 29 October 2007, as a result of the stock market rally and the appreciation of the Indian rupee, Mukesh became the richest person in the world, with net worth climbing to US$63.2 billion (Bill Gates, the richest American, stands at around $56 billion). Indians and Pakistanis have the same Y-chromosome haplogroup. We have the same genetic sequence and the same genetic marker (namely: M124).
We have the same DNA molecule, the same DNA sequence. Our culture, our traditions and our cuisine are all the same. We watch the same movies and sing the same songs.
What is it that Indians have and we don’t?
And also to mention: They think of Construction of own nation, unlike other nations who are just concerned with destruction of others…

Simple answer why the Indian fare better than the Pakistani’.. They don’t focus on religion and neither do they spend time and money in devising ways to kill their own and everyone else over religion..

At the end of the day, not only are the Russians kept at bay, America finds a ready arms market, as long as the two nations are busy squabbling with each other the fear of collaboration with China is ruled out, that simple means the west is not threatened.

If our current trends keep up, then we these will past achievements, that are today’s egos and tomorrows breakdowns.

New brag-rat on the block

ImageOnce upon a time, in mythology, there were beautiful damsels, enchantress who diverted the heroes from their chosen path.

The Indian mythology called them Apsara’s they were delegated by the Lord of the immortals, to deal with spiritual quest of people or if anything threatened the throne of Indra the Lord of the immortals.

Instead of calling Rambha or Menaka we call Barkha and Arnab. Their task is to divert uncomfortable enquiry that threatens the throne of the Gandhi family, or the power of the congress.

Their modus operandi is simple,

  • Establish a background of credibility; create a debate over non threatening issues of the power epicentre, a fringe issue like Vadra’s shady real-estate investment.
  • Identify the viable threats,
  • Neutralize them by framing them and defaming them.

It was Kejriwala, Gadhkari, and wonder who is on the block next. Every hero has a weakness, and every villain a strong suit so the game is not really difficult.

He had to abort is foray into Advani’s progeny as the last time someone pointed fingers at Ajit Advani(?) the gentleman came down, spoke to doordarshan, with all his papers in papers in place.

Interesting over the week, Arunab summed up couple of things unwittingly, that is people adjust with the systemand learn how to utilize it for their benefits, that is what ails the country.

Another point is we condone corruption of manipulation of smaller denomination. There was one speaker (don’t know his name) who had the audacity to say it’s so cheap, middle class like, I wonder where he thought his slab was? Maybe the Troll-class I don’t know. Coming back to the issue, it’s not only that we condone minor offense we don’t recognize or diagnose it.

Congrats Arnab on your new status as the national symbol of irritation.
